At Troup ISD we feel that all students should be prepared to be good citizens in digital environments, just as they are expected to be good citizens in the physical world. On this site you will find different topics such as; internet safety, communication,
cyber-bullying, privacy and security, digital footprint, and much more.
As an employee, it is important that you are familiar with and follow the policies Troup ISD has put in place. If you are a teacher, please make sure you hold your students to these policies and model responsible use of technology. Click here to read our Technology handbook for our employees.
We believe that our students should be prepared to navigate the online world that is now integrated into so much of our daily routine. Click here to read our Technology Handbook for our students.
Our goal is to educate not only employees and students but parents and families as well on how to make the best choices when you are online. Check out the pages above for more resources for keeping yourself and your information safe.
Troup ISD strives to provide the latest technology for our employees and students within our means. We want to not only put devices in their hands, but give them the tools they need in any online environment.
Simply put, the lesson is there are few rules unique to ensuring safety online, but rather, the rules are general ones that should be applied online or off. In short, treat an online environment just as you would a playground or park.
It's the law.
In accordance with the Protecting Children in the 21st Century Act, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) requires schools to educate the students about appropriate online behavior. This includes education on interacting with other individuals on social networking websites and in chat rooms and on cyber-bullying awareness and reponse.
